My Son Was On Ritalin As A Young Child, He Is Now 40 And Experiencing Heart Problems. Is There A Connection?

Written By: admin on December 11, 2009 2 Comments

I did not keep him on ritalin long as I did notice a change in his behavior immediately but over the span of a few weeks the ritalin just seemed to have an adverse reaction. the doctor told me to start again so I did, but again I noticed a subtle change that i didn't like so I quit giving him teh Ritalin. Now I am so concerned as there is no evidence in heart disease in my family as such a young age, he has never smoked, has been an active participant in health clubs and never took drugs or drank much, just wine occasionally. It just seems that he would be the least likely to develop any heart disease...he has been told he has high cholesterol also. Please get back to me as I feel such guilt...he is still a very energetic person who does not require much rest or relaxation.

It can be. I believe this is possible. I have ADD. I have been on Ritalin for about 18 years. In the past few years I have experienced some problems. I had tests done but the only thing that I was told about the results was that I have a rapid heart beat. Sometimes it beats fast for no reason.

On the news the other night they told a story of how Ritilin was connected to thousands of deaths. Yes I believe it is connected and I think if he dies you should have a case in court.
